  • Abstract: The purpose of this publication is to introduce into scientific circulation the original text of the Nobel Prize speech delivered by Ivan Bunin on December 10, 1933 at the banquet of the Swedish Academy, held in honor of the newly elected Nobel laureates at the Stockholm Grand Hotel. The published text, which is an authorized typewritten copy in French with author’s notes and corrections made in 1933 and 1936, is kept in the Bunin Collection of the Leeds Russian Archive (Great Britain). The text of the authorized typewriting was used by Bunin when writing memoir essays Recordings (1936), Comment j’ai reçu le Prix Nobel (How I received the Nobel Prize, 1947), Nobel Days (1950), Journées du Prix Nobel (Days of the Nobel Prize, 1950). In the future, the authorized typescript will be used as the main text while preparing the Nobel Speech for publication in Bunin’s future Complete Works and Letters as an independent piece. The French text of the Nobel Speech is provided with its new Russian translation. In a sense, the publication complements the article by the same authors Ivan Bunin’s Nobel Speech: the History and Studies of the Text (Literaturnyi fact, no. 3, 2024, pp. 213–242).
