  • Abstract: Ivan Savin (Savolainen, 1899–1927) — a poet and prose writer, having found himself in exile in Finland, actively collaborated with Russian-language publications in Helsingfors, Revel, Riga, Berlin, Belgrade, Paris, created the Russian Youth Circle in Finland (1923–1926), attempted to publish the “organ of Russian youth” — the magazine Days of Our Life (1923). The article focuses on the analysis of a number of Savin’s publications, presented in various forms (lyric poems, political journalism, fiction) in the first issue of the magazine. Turning to the recent past, which dramatically changed the destiny of the Russian people, Savin the publicist focused on the problems of revolution and counter-revolution, the relationship between the intelligentsia and the people, the future of Russia, and the responsibility of emigration for the preservation of “eternal Russian values.” As a result of the study, it was revealed that: Days of Our Lives was conceived by Savin as an author’s project, the purpose of which was to clearly formulate and unambiguously express the essence of the “White Idea” (anti- Bolshevism is the spiritual dominant of the Russian emigration) and to activate the forces of young like-minded people to fight for the salvation of Russia. This focus permeates all publications in the first issue of the journal.
