Abstract: The article gives a brief overview of the letters from the representative of the first wave of emigration, the poet of the Montparnasse note Anatolii S. Shteiger to Professor Piotr M. Bitsilli and Prince A.P. Meshcherskii. The correspondence covers the years of World War II, reflects its events and contains valuable biographical information about the poet himself and other Russian writers, public figures, and members of the Russian Imperial House in exile. The archival sources cited in the article are introduced into scientific circulation for the first time.
